According to the Meteorological Department’s forecast, snowfall is expected between January 4 and January 6, 2025. The office of the Chief Engineer (Distribution) Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited, in a circular issued, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), states that the Chief Engineer stressed the need for proactive measures to ensure a continuous power supply and the quick restoration of electricity during potential outages. “Subordinate offices have been directed to deploy sufficient field staff in areas that were severely impacted by last year’s snowfall. The department has also stressed the importance of adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) during the restoration process,” the circular reads.
